All in an afternoon's work


Here we have
* 8 Strawberry Tarts
* 1 Triple Chocolate Gateau
* 1 Raspberry Layer Cake
* 1 Coffee and Walnut

Let's see how this Friday turns out.................

Triple Chocolate Gateau


This cake is absolutely amazing, although it is very rich so I recommend only a small slice at a time, It consists of chocolate sponge, filled with white chocolate whipped cream and covered in a chocolate fudge cream icing.

I first made this cake for my friend Joanne for her birthday, she called the dark chocolate outer icing "sexual chocolate" I then revisited the cake a few years later for my Grandads Birthday and then again most recently as a big thank you to a friend of the family who has been very generous in helping me set up my kitchen.

It must have been good because a friend of hers tried it and has ordered one for his wife's birthday but with milk chocolate covering instead of plain chocolate, I'll let you know how it turns out.

Coffee and Walnut Cake


This is a variation of a recipe from once again Fiona Cairns, the only difference is I use walnuts she uses hazlenuts. I have also increased the quantity of ingredients used,  hence this cake is so big the cake display stand had to be altered. In fact it has got bigger each time I have made it. May have to start using a bigger tin

Raspberry Layer Cake



One Raspberry layer cake
Three layers of vanilla sponge filled with raspberry cream cheese and topped with raspberry laced whipped cream. This is the sample cake, I then sold one the following week :-)

Strawberry Tarts

16 Strawberry Tarts with chantilly cream and a strawberry glaze just made, unfortunately I forgot to take a picture and have now delivered 10 of them, but will remember to take a picture of the remaining 6 tomorrow.

Strawberry, Mint and Balsamic Cheesecake



Another recipe from Fiona Cairns. Cheesecake with Balsamic and mint soaked strawberries on top of a minty chocolate digestive base. Subtle but beautiful

Carrot and Pecan Cake with Maple Syrup and Orange Buttercream Icing



Now, this is the best Carrot Cake I have baked and ever tasted, I used the recipe from Fiona Cairns Bake and Decorate book, bought for me from my lovely friend Joanne. All the other recipes in here are also amazing

Vanilla with Raspberry Buttercream topped with a Raspberry
Coffee Sponge with Espresso Buttercream finished with 3 coffee beans
Light Lemony Sponge with Lemon Buttercream and Sugar flowers
Plain Chocolate Sponge with Chocolate Buttercream and decorated with white chocolate stars
